The
Company began its life in 1920, when the founder, Umberto Piacenza, using his
"thousand lire" special army discharge reward, opened a "workshop" in
Cremona for the vulcanisation of wheels. |
The manufacture
of agricultural wagons with rubberised wheels was soon added to the above line of
business. Right from the beginning, the company was keen to export sending its products to
the Italian territories of the time in Africa. |

At the end of the
2nd world war, the very first road trailer was manufactured and the present branch in Via
Milano (CREMONA) was built. Thanks to its reliability and strength together with the
innovation that has always characterised Piacenza's productions especially since the
'50's, the product immediately met with success. In those years, besides traditional
trailers, bulk cement tanks and powder tanks were also manufactured. |
In the '60's the
Company was handed over to Mr. Piacenza's sons, who were even more eager to expand their
business abroad, so that for 20 years Piacenza's vehicles dominated the African market
(Zambia, Nigeria). By the beginning of the 1980's, Piacenza had found new markets in Iraq
and Eastern Europe and in particular, Poland.
Nowadays, exportation is still pursued with extreme interest and energy by the present
management. |
